Professor Yongseok Kim was my professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio for Marketing Capstone. One of my biggest fears about this course was not understanding any of the material, not being enough, failing assignments, losing hope, and just not comprehending what Professor Kim was trying to teach us. For me, mainly because of my ADHD and anxiety getting in the way a lot. There were times when I missed class due to personal health reason relating to that, so I always tried to put my 100% in the assignments to prove I was willing to work hard regardless of obstacles I faced regarding my health. Of course, professors have to work with accommodate with students who are registered under Students with Disabilities but he seemed to look passed that and just really understand my situation and trust me. He is honestly one of the nicest, most generous people I have ever met and he really cares about his students. Not only did he learn and memorize all of his students' names (he has like hundreds), he was always willing to answer questions, and we could all tell that he really wanted all of us to succeed! Even when we all had our down times, he still had a positive attitude and gave off the vibe that said "I do not want to FAIL YOU." Also, I thought it was cool that he would play BTS music videos when we would look over assignments he gave us! No, I did not jump around and fan girl (just in my head). I would explain to few people around me the music itself but that's about it. He would even incorporate KPOP in the subject due to it becoming globally popular. That meant a lot because I have loved KPOP and the Korean culture in general since I was 13 years old. That was one of the things I was made fun of for when I was younger. It is not only just music for me, there are so many other things and I have always had a personal relationship with it and it has even gotten me through a lot of tough times. I do wish I expressed to him that not only is he an amazing professor, but also an incredible person. It was a funny coincidence that I was also (still am) studying language. Thank you, Professor Kim!
